When travelling to Tonga as a citizen of Austria, you must meet the following terms and requirements concerning visa, immigration procedures or maximum duration of stay.

Passport required

Passports and other documents accepted for entry must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the arrival date.

Passport Exemptions

Passengers with an authorization letter issued by a diplomatic mission of Tonga with an official stamp of either the diplomatic mission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Principle Immigration Officer.

Visa required

except for Nationals of Austria for a maximum stay of 90 days.


The maximum stay is granted within 180 days.

Visitors are required to hold proof of sufficient funds to cover their stay and documents required for their next destination.
Visitors wishing to extend their stay should request permission from the Principal Immigration Officer in Nuku'alofa in Tonga.
