When travelling to Austria as a citizen of Switzerland, you must meet the following terms and requirements concerning visa, immigration procedures or maximum duration of stay.
Nationals of Switzerland are allowed to enter with an expired passport. The passport is accepted when expired for a maximum of 5 years.
Nationals of Switzerland traveling without a passport must have a document accepted for entry, valid on arrival.
Nationals of Switzerland with a national ID card.
Nationals of Switzerland with an emergency or temporary passport.

Valid visas in full, invalidated travel documents are accepted if accompanied by a new travel document.
