When travelling to Egypt as a citizen of Romania, you must meet the following terms and requirements concerning visa, immigration procedures or maximum duration of stay.

Passport required

Passports and other documents accepted for entry must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the arrival date.

Passport Exemptions

Passengers with a temporary passport.

Visa required

except for Passengers with a normal, emergency or temporary passport if traveling as tourists and arriving at Sharm El Sheik (SSH), Saint Catherine (SKV) or Taba (TCP) airports and remaining in the Sinai resorts for a maximum stay of 15 days. Visa required, except for Wives of Egyptian nationals.

Not applicable to holders of emergency or temporary passports, who must obtain a visa and security approval prior to travel. Accepted proof of Egyptian nationality is: (copy of) a birth certificate, passport or National ID Card of the relative. Visa required, except for Sons and daughters born to an Egyptian father.

Minors

Minors, aged less than 16 years, do not need a separate passport, provided they are registered in passport of a parent or guardian that does not contain a machine-readable zone.
WARNING! In accordance with European Union (EU) Legislation, all minors who are nationals of Romania will be expected to hold their own passport or National ID Card (where applicable) when departing from Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Romania or a Schengen Member State [READ MORE].

Warning

Nationals of Romania who arrive from Guinea, Liberia or Sierra Leone will be screened on arrival. Passengers will be quarantined if Ebola is suspected.
